Pillars’re Worthy League Leaders –Heartland Skipper
Heartland skipper
Chinedu Efugh has said Kano Pillars showed on Sunday they are worthy league leaders even though they lost 1-0 to the home team in Owerri.
The former Enugu Rangers defender said Kano Pillars were tough, but Heartland won through sheer determination.
“Kano Pillars are a good side no doubt, they showed class and why they are champions as well as on top of the league table,” said the experienced Efugh.
”But we were determined to win the match, we worked hard before and during the game and that was why God crowned us with victory.
”It was a tough game and both teams played well enough for victory.”
Pillars remain top of the Nigeria league with 50 points from 30 matches.
They will now hope to consolidate their leadership today when they host relegation-troubled Crown FC in Kano.
