PDP Donates N250m To Mile Market Fire Victims

The National Executive of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by its national chairman Alhaji Ahmadu Adamu Maazu has donated N250 million to victims of the Rumuwoji (Mile 1) Market fire of last year – December in Port Harcourt.
Alhaji Maazu, who represented the leader of the party President Goodluck Jonathan, said the N250 million Naira was donated by the Presidency to alleviate the suffering of the Mile 1 market traders, whose shops and goods were gutted by the fire of last December.
He urged the traders to make judicious use of the money so as to serve its purposes in their various businesses.
He also urged the traders and the people of Rivers State to support PDP in the forthcoming 2015 election, saying that the party will do more to bring food on the tables of every Nigerian if the PDP wins the 2015 elections.
The PDP National Chairman assured members of his party that all the party related crisis would be resolved amicable to accommodate every person for a better Nigeria and Rivers State in particular.
Speaking, the PDP Deputy National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus assured the traders that, the burnt market would be rebuilt immediately the party wins the 2015 governorship election in the state.
Also speaking, the Minister of State, Education, Chief Nyesom Wike said, despite that the victims of the burnt market was purely the responsibility of the State Government, “the Federal Government under the PDP has decided to empower the traders to alleviate their suffering.
He promised the traders more Federal Government empowerments, if PDP is voted to rule the country again in 2015.
As part of the visit, the PDP National Chairman Commissioned an Adult Education centre built by the Federal government at Rumuwoji Community play ground, Mile 1 Diobu in Port Harcourt and also witnessed the empowerment of members of Federal Constituency 11, Port Harcourt by the lawmaker representing the area Hon. Blessing Charles Nsiegbe.
The empowerment items included Sewing and Sawing machines.
