Nollywood Stars Storm PH For BON Awards

Last Thursday October 16th
witnessed a constellation of stars as veteran Nollywood practitioners stormed Port Harcourt the Rivers State capital for the 6th edition of Best of Nollywood (BON) awards which rewards enterprising talents in Nollywood. The event was held in the Government House Port Harcourt.
The chief host of the event and governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, attended the event with an entourage of his cabinet members which include the Deputy Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Tele Ikuru, Chief of Staff Government House, Hon. Emma Okah, and other members of the State Executive Council.
In his speech at the occasion, the Governor lauded Nollywood practitioners for their dedication and commitment which has catapulted the industry to global recognition.
He also doled out a huge financial support to the organizers of the event.
Among the top Nollywood Stars that graced the event were: Patience Ozokwor, aka Mama G, who presented the best Movie award category with the Governor standing beside her as she presented the award and Evangelist Liz Benson who received a life time achievement award.
Others include; Kenneth Okonkwo, Emen Isong, Desmond Elliot, Empress Njamah, Nkem Owhor, Yvonne Jegede, Ayo Adesanya, Iyabo Ojo, Ireti Osayemi, Nobert Young, who also received life time achievement award, Toyin Tomato and Dickson Iregbu
Others were; Yomi Doris Simeon, Ejiro Okurame, Fash Lanso, Rachael Oniga, Mary Uranta, Foluke Daramola, Alex Ekubo, Daniel, K. Daniel who won the revelation of the year award, Alex Mouth, Moses Inwang, Tope Tedela, Chinedu Ikedieze, Elvis Chuks, Jetta Amata, amongst numerous others.
The music industry was represented by award winning singer, Jaywon and other up  coming music sensations, while in comedy sector, comic personalities like Gbenga Adeyinka, Ayo Makun (AY) held sway as the audience laughed and clapped at their hilarious jokes.
The event was anchored by popular Nollywood action, Fred Amatta and Radio presenter Gbemisola Olateru Olagbegi. They made a great pair and did complement each other perfectly. The event was aired life by AIT, On TV and other stations.
