The Nigeria Labour
Congress (NLC) has appealed to the abductors of Mr Okey Wali,  SAN, the immediate past President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), to release him unconditionally and unharmed.
This is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by Dr Peter Ozo-Eson, NLC General Secretary in Abuja.
The former NBA President  was kidnapped last Saturday in Port Harcourt.
The statement said that the leadership of the NLC has expressed dismay over the abduction.
“Abduction is a criminal act used to extort money from victims or their families or friends.
“It is also an unacceptable tool of terror which we must all resist or fight,” the statement added.
The NLC said that Nigerians must not succumb to the intimidation.
The statement urged the security forces to rise to the challenge of rescuing Wali, adding that the security forces needed quality intelligence and equipment to get the job done.
It  solicited support for security agencies from members of the public.
