Nembe City Abandons Game Again, Faces Sanction

Nembe City refused
to continue a league game at home for the second time this season after the referee awarded a late penalty with scores at 2-2 against Gombe yesterday.
The week 31 game was played at Omoku yesterday morning after rain forced it to be called off the previous day.
Nembe City players protested the award of the penalty after their player was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the box in the 89th minute.
The referee then waited for 10 minutes for the home team to come out for the game to continue, and when they did not, he called off the game.
Nembe is now likely to be hammered by the league after they barely escaped severe sanctions for doing same against Lobi Stars.
