Emmanuel Emenike was
mobbed by fans at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport Lagos Monday evening on his way to Abuja to join the Super Eagles for AFCON 2015 qualifiers against Sudan.
One of the fans who mobbed the Fenerbache star, simply called Tunji, said: “We have always believed in Emenike, his presence always counts on the pitch. I am sure he is not also happy that he had not been scoring but I want every other fan to keep cheering him.”
Another fan, who was on board with Emenike to Abuja, added: “In Nigeria, we don’t support players enough especially when they drop in form, but I believe Emenike will soar high this time around.”
Besides his goals for Nigeria drying up, Emenike has publicly come out to take on coach Stephen Keshi following comments by the coach against him.
This row comes just days before the  two must-win AFCON qualifiers against Sudan after the African champions dropped five points in their opening qualifying matches last month.
However, the former Spartak Moscow striker told newsmen that he will give his best against Sudan in Omdurman on Saturday and thereafter in Abuja.
“I will give my best as usual against Sudan,” a confident Emenike promised.
