Students offering ag
riculture in the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, (RSUST) have been urged to borrow a leaf from their Federal University of Technology, (FUTA), Akure counterparts, on the need to venture into agriculture in future as a business.
Making the call while speaking to our correspondent last Monday, a forestry expert, Mr Fred Nwokocha, recalled the recent Agriculture Faculty- week embarked upon by Agric Students at FUTA.
Using the week, the students launched a project tagged, “Operation Feed Futarians,” which they said was also an initiative to reach out to the less privileged students of agriculture and community members utilizing the vehicle of agriculture.
The programme The Tide gathered, was held at the Thomas Sankara Students Union building of FUTA.
The programme witnessed the curation of 1000 signatures of fellow students on a large flexible banner of their support for agriculture and commitment to get directly engaged in agricultural activity.
The Tide further gathered that the students have in their agenda the primary need of going into full scale agribusiness venture when out of school to check unemployment.
