Enyimba Sets Up Title Battle With Pillars

Enyimba FC’s first away win
of the season at Kaduna United could well mean that the Nigeria league title will be decided on the final day at home against leaders Pillars on November 9.
Enyimba pipped hosts Kaduna United 1-0 on Sunday and are now just two points behind leaders and champions Kano Pillars, who have compiled 56 points with four matches left to be played.
Warri Wolves are second in the standings with 55 points, while Nasarawa has returned to strong contention on 54 points.
After taking a much closer look at the last four fixtures of these four title chasers, destination of the league trophy could now either be champions Pillars or Enyimba.
Pillars next four games are home to Kaduna and Nembe and away to El Kanemi Warriors and Enyimba.
On the strength of their home form, Pillars will win both home games to have six more points.
They are likely to pick up three points or one when they take on hosts El Kanemi, who play their home games at the same Sabongari Township Stadium as Pillars.
If  Pillars picked six points from two home games, a point from El Kanemi or victory, they will end up with 63 points or 65 points.
If they lost at El Kanemi, they would end up with 63 points.
Second-placed Wolves have home games against Crown and Gombe, which they should win.
But their away games at Sharks and Nasarawa are not likely to add to their tally, and so Wolves would end up with 61 points.
Third-placed Enyimba stand a much better chance to challenge Pillars for the championship considering their remaining fixtures.
