Dolphins FC of Port
Harcourt coach Stanley Eguma has alleged that  his team lost to the referee and not to Akwa United at the weekend.
Dolphins opened scoring in Uyo in the 22nd minute through Emem Eduok.
Ebong Kufre drew Akwa level in added time of the first half after he connected home a corner to beat Pius Ibrahim, who was in goal for Dolphins.
Akwa United got the winning goal after referee A. A. Ibrahim from Kaduna State awarded the home side a penalty after Ini Akpan was brought down in the vital area.
Dolphins defender Chizoba Amaefule was then shown a second yellow and the marching orders for the foul on Ini Akpan with Nnomso Edo converting.
“The pitch was bad and there is nothing we would have been able to do here,” Eguma lamented.
“We did our best, but the referee gave them a penalty and they won.
”He also used the cards to intimidate my players, but we have lost and we have to put that behind us and look at other games.”
Akwa United coach Patrick Udoh agreed on the bad pitch, saying it even affected his players.
“When we play away, you will enjoy our game because the pitch is a factor. We also do not have a bad away record as people think,” Udoh said.
