Dead Officers: TIMARIV Issues Cheques To Bereaved Families

The management of
Rivers State Road Traffic Management Authority (TIMARIV) has presented cheques to the families of three of their officers who lost their lives while on active duty.
Speaking while presenting the cheques to the families in his office in Port Harcourt last Tuesday, the Controller General of TIMARIV, Confidence Eke  condoled the families of the departed officers who met their untimely death while on lawful duties to the state, and maintained that the outfit would no longer tolerate such heinous act.
Eke noted that although no amount of money could equate the lives of their lost ones, but a token as they are committed to the welfare of their members, and assist them in their own little way to cushion the effect.
He assured that the management would always assist them as extended families and prayed God to continue to console and comfort them over the irreparable lost.
The TIMARIV boss called on the police in the state to carry out through investigation until the culprits are apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law.
Eke also warned that the authority would no longer tolerate assaults from members of the public, and that any grievances should be channeled to the appropriate authorities.
He further advised officers of TIMARIV to carry out their duties diligently by treating traffic offenders with civility as they are not criminals, stressing that they would not condone act of indiscipline and corrupt practices, and enjoined them to operate within the law that established the body, adding that the authority is ready to defend such officers at any where while on duty lawfully.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Elder Joshua Chibu thanked the Rivers State Government and TIMARIV for their magnanimity.
The victims are Otuchikere Inyeanyi, Rose Cookey and James Nwagu.
It would be recalled that the victims were shot death while on duty along Agudama in D/Line, Diobu Port Harcourt on December 29, 2011, by an armed bandits on escape mission after robbing a shop in the area.
