nator, Ami Farm House, Port Harcourt, Mr. Mike Okonkwo, has called on farmers in the country to include the planting of Moringa in their farms.
Okonkwoo who stated this while speaking to our correspondent in an exlusive interview on Monday, said, farmers who plant Moringa among their crops stand the chance of producing healthy crops.
According to him Moringa was the most nutritious plant in the world even as he said the economic importance of the plant was unequalled.
He said his organisation has the largest Moringa farm, South-East and South-South part of the country with the farm and the ultra-modern factory located in Imo and Rivers States respectively.
Okon kwo, who said Ami Farm House was a member of the Moringa Association of Nigeria Rivers State branch, urged farmers in the state to identify with the body.
He further advocated for the transformation of the plant into various products like shakes, flavours and tea amongst others.
He said that about 70 per cent of homes in the country were producing Moringa related products for sale and consumption adding that the development has enhanced the economic wellbeing of most people.
He said since Moringa has the added advantage of doing well all the year round, governments should take the lead in the massive cultivation of the plant.
The Ami Farm House boss said it has organised trainings for farmers across the state and some farmers have been able to produce and develop Moringa related foods, shakes, tea and fodder for live stock amongst others.
