Chairman Urges Unicem Rovers To Avoid Relegation
As the Nigeria National
League NNL Football Competition gradually winds down for this year’s season, almost all the clubs are intensifying on last minutes strategies to ensure that they end the season on a sound footing.
One of such is the Unicem Rovers Football Club of Calabar, who is still battling to escape relegation.
Addressing the players in Calabar, recently, the chairman of the Club, Mr. Moris Inok, charged the players to do all that they could do so as not to relegation, urging them to be focused and steadfast with their training. He also urged them not to lose their remaining few matches in the weeks ahead if they wish to remain relevant in the NNL next season.
Inok who came in with a new management during the mid season on a rescue mission with a mandate to ensure that the Club secures it position the ticket to play in the NNL next season if they cannot gain promotion to play in the premiership.
This was because of the team’s woeful performances under their former management.
The Sports Administrator advised the players to rise up to their challenge and improve on the performances and win more matches not withstanding the fact that their poor performance was as a result of poor officiating by referees, especially, in away matches.
He also noted that one of such matches was the match against Prime FC of Osogbo where the centre referee awarded the home team a goal that never crossed the line, stressing that if such an ugly trend is not nipped in at the bud such a situation he said would be capable of killing the game of football in the country.
