The All Progressives
Congress (APC) in Rivers State, says it is fully prepared for the threat posed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, as the 2015 general elections draw close.
A member of the Elders Forum of APC in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state, Chief Sydney Nyeche, who dropped the hint in an interview with The Tide in Port Harcourt, said the achievements of Governor Chibuike Rotimi AMaechi were enough to ward off any threat posed by the PDP at the polls.
He further contended that the governor had also through his excellent achievements in office set a pace and record which would be difficult to surpass in the future, pointing out that except his successor was on the same pedestal with the governor, he would not be able to match his achievements.
According to him, the APC members would work hard to ensure that Rivers people enjoy the dividends of democracy.
He said the era of rigging of elections in the state was over as the APC was better positioned to win elections in the state through intensive electioneering campaigns and door-to-door mobilisation of the people, stressing that all that the party needed, particularly in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, was more encouragement, logistics support and empowerment.
Nyeche further indicated that APC members  in both the state and the local government area were people that could be trusted and counted upon to deliver democracy dividends at the end of the day, and urged Rivers people to place their confidence in the party at all times.
