AKULGA Council Boss Scores Amaechi High

The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Akuku Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr. Otiasah Christian Livingstone has said that Rivers State has had it so good under the administration of Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.
Speaking on the Independence Day anniversary in an interview with newsmen in Port Harcourt, the Chairman said that although Nigeria has not done very well as expected nonetheless the future was bright if the political class would consider national interest over personal interest.
Continuing on Amaechi’s administration, the chairman said that he has been a witness of the achievements of past administrations in the state, pointing out that apart from Chief Alfred Diette Spiff’s administration, which laid the foundation of Rivers State, no administration can claim  having done better than Amaechi.
He said that Amaechi has laid a solid foundation for a robust educational development of the state, sound primary healthcare development, overseas scholarship scheme and road infrastructure.
“How I wish somebody had recorded a video of Port Harcourt roads in the past and in the present for a good comparison. Our people should call a spade a spade”, he said.
The chairman noted that there was every reason for Rivers people to celebrate the national anniversary.
He called on the people to stand behind the governor because he is a patriotic, visionary leader, who places the interest of Rivers State first before any other interest, including his personal interest.
“Governor Amaechi stands out clearly in his constitutional mandate and responsibility of defending Rivers territories even at the risk of his life”, he said.
The chairman said that he intends to emulate Amaechi’s qualities within the 3 months duration he would stay in office to make an impression in Akuku Toru local government area.
He said that his committee will embark on sustainable empowerment programmes that would improve the standard of living of his people.
He urged Nigerians to always be the happy people they are as God will enthrone peace in the country as well as accelerated development.
He said that those who are planning to derail the general elections would fail as God has always been with Nigeria.
