AFCON Qualifier: S’Africa To Go For Kill Against Congo
Bafana Bafana striker Kermit
Erasmus has said that they would go for the kill against Congo in their 2015 Afcon Qualifier tonight.
The Orlando Pirates forward was sharing his insights ahead of the return match after beating the Red Devils 2-0 in Pointe Noire on Saturday.
Erasmus said that coach Shakes Mashaba has emphasized the need to close the game with a convincing win.
“It’s really important for the nation to qualify, not only us as a team but because we didn’t qualify in previous competitions,” said Erasmus.
“Killing off tonight’s game is very crucial for the nation to have belief in us.
“A lot of things have been said about the team and we have to make a change as a team as a team we have a chance to do that,” added the former SuperSport United player.
Erasmus mentioned the fact that this clash is a new ball game and they’re taking it from scratch.
“We’re taking this one from scratch; we’ll work for each other as a team. We’ll go for a result and show the hunger that we had in Congo,” concluded the 24-year-old player.
Bafana go into this match sitting at number one in Group A with two wins and one draw.
