3SC Closer To Glo League Return

Shooting Stars moved
closer to an instant return to the Nigeria top flight when they beat promotion rivals Mountain of Fire Ministries 2-0 in an entertaining clash at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan last Saturday.
Shooting Stars took an early lead from the penalty spot through Sylvanus Ebiaku after Ifeanyi Ifeanyi of MFM brought down Femi Ojo inside the box after just five minutes.
MFM protested against the penalty award and the match was held up for several minutes before it eventually resumed.
‘The Oluyole Warriors’ made the game safe when Yemi Adeyeye doubled their lead in the 71st minute.
MFM produced a good case why they should be promoted to the elite league as they dominated most of the second half, but 3SC goalkeeper Abiodun Akande denied them a chance to get back into the game on several occasions.
A delighted goal scorer Adeyeye said, “it was double joy indeed because my wife put to bed on Wednesday and I scored today. I am overwhelmed and I dedicated the goal to my baby who brought joy to me and my team today.
“With today’s victory, we are going to Ilorin to beat ABS before playing Abia Comets on our last day to seal our promotion ticket.
“We are very happy with the support we got and we will not relent until we are back in the premier league where we belong.”
