19th NSF: Rivers B/Ball Team Targets Qualification, Medals

pare for the forthcoming zonal elimination competition for the 19th National Sports festival (NSF), the State Basketball Assocation Coach, Dagogo Okumgba has reiterated his desire to see his team qualify for the festival proper and surpass the number of medals it won at the last festival, ‘Eko 2012’ when curtain are drawn on the 19th edition in Calabar later in the year.
Coach Okumgba, stated this during one of the team’s training sessions at the Niger Street, Basketball Court, Port Harcourt.
According to him, the players are focused and committed to their dream of winning more medalist at the 19th NSF games tagged “paradise Games 2014” scheduled to hold in Calabar, Cross Rivers State, but first of all, they must excel at the zonal elimination competition scheduled to hold between the 23rd of this month and December 1st.
He said that the players are determined and are working hard for a better outing, when the National Stage of the competition begins and as well bring honour to the state.
Meanwhile, the athletes are warning up for third phase camping to further fortify themselves for the task ahead.
The third phase camping is expected to hold this month before the NSF gets underway.
Coach Okumgba, further advised the players to be devoted to their chosen sports and always exhibit discipline in all their dealings in order to excel in their endeavours.
