The association chairman also told The Tide that the market security committee was working with the police to safeguard lives and property during and after market hours.
According to him, the  security committee members operate from 6pm to 8am everyday, pointing out that the arrangement is yielding result as no bad report has been received in the last seven years.
He, however, decried the bad condition of roads especially at the back entrance to the market, stressing that apart from the poor state of the road, some persons have formed the habit of littering the area with all kinds of waste and urged the government to come to their aid. “Free movement from that part into the market is very difficult and some persons have also turned the area into dumpsite,” he said.
