TUC Urges Unity Among Security Agencies Over Pipeline Vandalisation

gress of Nigeria (TUC) has called for total working Unity among the security agencies of he country in their efforts against pipelines vandalisation
In a statement jointly signed by the Union’s President  Comrade Bobboi Bala Kaigama and the  secretary  General, Comrade Musa Lawal expressed worry over  the increasing  incidence of friction among officers and men of State security agencies.
The Union’s Leaders lamented the latest incident involving officers and men of the Nigeria Police  Force (NPF) and Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Lagos.
The Union condemned in strong terms the incident that happened in Owutu area of Ikorodu, Lagos State which involved  a committee that included the commandment that included the commandment General of the NSCDC Mr Ade Abolurin and his men along  with officers of the Nigeria  Army, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) office of the Attorney General of the Federation and some others. The union statement said these persons were said to be  on an inspection and assessment tour of  disposable forefeited  items, only for the team to find themselves  being threatened  at gun point by a police inspector and his men claiming the territory belongs to the police.
The TUC said the presence of security operatives  at any trouble spot, irrespective of their respective agencies  should boost efforts to secure the nation’s pipelines from vandals.
The union further reiterated that no policeman or other  security officer has any right to shoot or even point a gun at another who has not violated  any law of the land, stressing that any act to the contrary must be checked  as it is criminal and portends  grave  implication for the society.
The union enjoined the new Inspector General  of Police Mr. Sulieman Abba to immediately call to order police officers found to be aiding vandalisation of the nation’s pipelines throughout the country.
