Rivers Sports Institute, Community In Need Of Rehabilitation
The Rivers State
Sports Institute, Isaka has appealed to government, corporate bodies and philanthropists to come to its aid in reviving the school and its environment.
President of the Coaches and Management Students Association CAMSA, 2013/2014 session, Richard Kenneth made the appeal in an interview at the weekend.
According to him, the Institute is first of its kind in the zone and should not be allowed to go into extinction.
He said that the school is set to benefit from two 350 KVA generators sent to the Isaka Community by the federal government, but stated that its installation was being delayed due to the poor road network in the community.
“The generators arrived last week but due to the condition of the road, the two self loaders sank on their may to the installation site. They were eventually transported with the aid of a swamp buggy and dropped in the generator house on the 13th of this month”, he said.
Kenneth further said that for the generators to work effectively, there has to be a rewiring of the Institute and the Community and a re-construction of the roads.
“Let’s upgrade and sustain what God has given to us as to be able to produce better future leaders and athletes to support sports which affect all aspects of human endeavours.
