Rivers 2015: Aspirant Makes Case For Etche Guber Candidate

ant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief (Captain) Sunday Nwankwo, has called on other ethnic groups in Rivers State to support Etche for the governorship of the State in 2015.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after the inauguration of his campaign committee in Port Harcourt, Nwankwo said that Etche, Ogoni and Kalabari have remained the ethnic groups that had not produced the governor of the State since its creation.
He said that the campaign committee was set up to liaise with top Northerners of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to enable him emerge as its governorship candidate.
The aspirant said that the major problem in the state was more of economic than political, stressing that his administration would lift the people out of the doldrums of under- development and poverty.
He said that the opportunity created by divestment of assets by international oil companies (IOCs) in Nigeria to strategically invest in the oil and gas sector of the economy was to create four million direct and indirect high paying jobs annually.
Capt. Nwankwo also promised to invest in education, stressing that education was the most significant immaterial aspect of culture which must be tailored towards value transmission, instead of mere assimilation of facts and figures.
The Co-ordinator of the Campaign Committee, Comrade Jophet Ogbueri said that the committee was ready to receive the over 5000 prospective decampees to the group.
He urged for support from the committee members and to enable him succeed in his assignment.
