Rangers Earn Away Draw, Off Relegation Zone
Rangers pulled off a valu
able goalless draw at Abia Warriors on Wednesday to move away from relegation zone.
Rangers now have 38 points from 28 games, while Abia Warriors have 40 points.
Abia Warriors did their best to get a goal, but Rangers defence stood their ground.
In the 52nd minute, Chisom Chikatara failed to score after he came face-to-face with the Rangers goalkeeper.
Substitute Bishop Onyeudo was unlucky not to have given Abia Warriors the lead when he hit the post in the 58th minute.
He was on hand again in the 69th minute, when his ambitious shot sailed past the target for a goal kick.
In Warri, Gbolahan Salami scored a brace to help Warri Wolves beat Dolphins 3-1.
Salami scored the first goal from the penalty spot in the 25th minute. Ike ThankGod doubled the lead when he headed home Azubuike Egwekwe’s flick off Joseph Osadiaye’s corner kick.
Salami completed his brace when he struck in the 80th minute.
Emem Eduok scored Dolphins consolation goal in the 67th minute.
