Plateau Utd Debunks Match-Fixing Allegations

Club has debunked match-fixing allegations leveled against it by a top official of TEAP FC.
Achebe Okoro of TEAP had alleged that Plateau United won their match 2-1 in Abuja after they employed underhand tactics.
However, in a press release by Plateau United media officer, Albert Dakup, the management of the Jos-based club has maintained that the allegation is baseless, unfounded and just a calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the Plateau State government and the people of the state.
“The allegation is not only baseless and unfounded, but a calculated attempt to tarnish the image of the government and good people of the Plateau state which the club represent,” said the statement.
“It’s unfortunate that the CEO of TEAP FC is raising unfounded allegation after realising that the 2-1 defeat they suffered in the hand of Plateau United has pushed them down more to relegation and result is to blackmail.
“Plateau United want the statement credited to Achebe Okoro to be probed and anyone found guilty should be sanctioned accordingly.
“TEAP antics to withdraw at this point are similar to that of Zamfara last season that denied Plateau United promotion. TEAP should remember the agreement signed that no team will withdraw from the league at any point is still intact.”
