NHFS: Abia Civil Servants Contribute N1.46bn

The Federal Mortgage
Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) has disclosed that Abia State Civil Servants have so far contributed about  N1.46 billion into the conffers  of the mortgage  institution.
According to a statement by the mortgage bank in Umuahia on Friday, Abia Sate is participating actively in the  National Housing Fund Scheme in a bid for the State  Civil Servants to have their own houses.
The bank’s  chairman Chief Bisi Ogunjobi stated this  while commissioning the South-East Zonal Office of the Bank in Umuahia, Abia State.
Ogunjobi expressed  satisfaction that the mortgage  bank was also fulfilling  its part of the agreement under the National Housing Fund Scheme  with Abia State Government  stressing  that the bank had so far paid  N47.2 million to retired  contributors in the state.
The bank’s chairman  announced that the bank had financed  two housing estates development projects in Abia State to the tune of N1 billion.
He said the loans for the two projects were advanced  to Abia  State Housing Corporation ad Property Development  and Slogani Properties  Limited  for the  construction of combined  380 housing units.
He added that  a new estate project  by city-point Global Investment Limited for the Construction of  500 housing units at cedar Estate was also being considered for approval  by the bank’s  management.
Ogunjobi was represented  at the commissioning  event by the Director representing the South-East zone on the board of  the FCMB, Dr Goodluck Duru.
He also commended the mutually  beneficial   relationship between the Abia State Civil Servant and the  Bank.
