Lobi Penalty Denies Enyimba
Enyimba’s hope of
closing in on Kano Pillars at the top of the table was dashed as Lobi stars goalkeeper Terkaa Melai’s penalty strike gave his side the three points at stake.
Enyimba thus remains third on the table with 43 points from 28 games, Lobi Stars now have 41 points from 28 games.
Femi Thomas in goal for Enyimba had saved the first penalty awarded to Lobi which was played by skipper Terna Ikpee.
After another penalty was awarded Lobi, Goalkeeper Terkaa Melai stepped out to play the second penalty and he made no mistake to score what proved to be the match winner.
He now has five goals to his credit this season.
In Gombe, Sulaiman Usman scored for Gombe United in the 57th minute to deny Nasarawa United a point in the game played at the Pantami Stadium.
Nasarawa maintains the second spot with 44 points from 28 games,while Gombe United now has 35 points.
