Heartland Adds To Nembe Misery
Heartland inflicted a 2-0 de
feat on bottom club Nembe City in a Nigeria league Week 28 game on Wednesday.
Heartland now has 40 points from 28 games, while Nembe City remains at the basement of the league table with 24 points from 26 games.
Substitute Emeka Ogbugh broke the deadlock in the concluding minutes of the first half with a well- taken free kick from the edge of the box.
Bobby Clement, who was Heartland chief tormentor, scored the second goal in second minute of the second half when he lifted the ball over onrushing Nembe goalkeeper off Orji Kalu’s sublime chip.
In the 11th minute, Colins Nwaneri had a goal disallowed for offside.
Bobby Clement’s goal-bound shot was blocked by Nembe defender in the 35th minute, he put through Doumbia Zoumana on goal in the 70th minute, but the defender couldn’t convert the chance.
Clement again put through Fred Okwara in on goal in the 82nd minute , but the former Enugu Rangers star fired wide off target.
