Emohua Drums Support For Amaechi
Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi says Emohua Local Government Area of the state has now been liberated out of political wilderness after joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The chairman of Nigeria Governors Forum made the assertion yesterday when he played host to thousands of Emohua elders, youths, women and party stalwarts who paid a solidarity visit to him in Government House, Port Harcourt.
Represented by his Deputy, Engr Tele Ikuru, the Rivers State governor said,” Emohua will not go back to the wilderness. Before this time, you have had leaders who have been deceiving you that they will win elections, but they have never won any election.”
He assured the people that they have joined the right party now urging them to shun politicians whose relevance in the political stake of the state has elapsed.
“APC is the place to be. This is the party to follow, everybody that matters in the state is in APC,” Amaechi said.
While thanking them for their support, Governor Amaechi promised them that his administration has the welfare of the people at heart, noting that there is no community that has not felt the impact of government either in education, health or infrastructure.
He hinted that he will visit the area by the weekend and implored them to remain resolute in their pledge to support the administration to the end.
Earlier in his speech, member representing Emohua, and Ikwerre Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Chief Andrew Uchendu apologized on behalf of the people for the past political mistakes made in the area, as it was done ignorantly.
He said the Amaechi government has positively affected the local government as there is no community that will deny hosting one project or the other.
Uchendu pledged the support of Emohua to the Amaechi administration, while promising the people that he will not fail them in leading them to the right path always.
Chairman of APC in the state, Chief Davies Ibiamu Ikanya thanked Emohua people for coming en mass to show solidarity with the government.
Ikanya assured them that APC is the right party to be, “the party is uniting Nigeria because without it Nigeria would have had an emperor. So we have come to balance Nigeria.”
Ikanya also said the party has come to stay in the state and implored them not to have fears in next year’s polls.
Chairman of APC in Emohua Local Government Area, Barrister Vincent Uchendu stressed that the entire area is for the party.
He urged the governor and other party faithful to nurse no fear on whether the party will win in the area, maintaining that Emohua is 90 per cent APC.
