Cultural Fiesta Takes Centre Stage At Coronation Ceremony

13th 2014, was a day of cultural festivities, pomp and glitz as the paramount ruler of Emohua community, headquarters of Emohua Local Government (EMOLGA), Eze VCB Okor, Mgbo XII, coronated Ohna Nathan Chima Kejeh, Okirika X as the Nne Weli Mgbuetor-Emohua.
The event witnessed the rejuvenation of the ancient cultural dance of the Ikwerre people as showcased by the Rumuji Cultural Music group as well as wrestling display. The occasion also witnessed the attendance of political Jugganults and traditional chiefs among whom were:
The honourable member representing Emohua/Ikwerre Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Hon Andrew Uchendu, former chairman, Ikwerre/Etche Local Government, Hon. (Barr) Kingsley Kejeh, former Vice Chairman, Emohua Local Government, Chief (Hon) Ndidi Erim and Hon Arthur Uchendu.
Others included the chairman of the occasion, Chief (Dr) Isaac Zeb Obipi, Agulacha II of Ogoloma in Okirika local government area, Rivers State, the Royal Father of the day, HRM Engr. Mathew O. Ikpoku Orie II (JP), the Odio Ologbo of Ofagbe Kingdom, Isoko North Local Government Area Delta State, Chief Henry Micah Biterefie II of Sambo Ama Twon Brass Brass local government area, Bayelsa State amongst other distinquished personalities.
In his address at the occasion, the paramount ruler of Emohua, Eze VCB Okor, Enjoined people of Ikwerre land not to abandon their cultural heritage which is their identity. He also sued for peace in the land so as to benefit from the dividends of the present democratic dispensation. According to him, Emohua is known for producing top politicians as well as captains of industries as such the community is in the centre of government and ought to benefit from it.
The chairman of the occasion, Chief (Dr) Zeb Obipi thanked the people of Mgbuetor-Emohua for their peaceful disposition which was responsible for the success of the event and urged them to assist their new head in piloting the affairs of the community.
While the Royal father of the day, HRM Engr. Mathew Ikpoku noted that rulership is ordained by God and when the righteous rules, the people rejoice.
He congratulated Ohna Kejeh on his coronation.
In his vote of thanks, the Nne Weli Mgbuetor, Ohna Nathan Chima Kejeh, Okirika X, thanked the people of Emohua community and the council of chiefs for the honour done him and promised to live up to their expectations.
