Council Boss Pledges To Check Corruption

The newly appointed
Caretaker Committee Chairman of Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, Mr. Christian Livingstone Otisah, has assured the people of the area that he would run the council with the fear of God  and zero  tolerance  to corruption.
Otisah who stated this in Port Harcourt further assured that he would embark on sustainable empowerment programmes for the people while also improving on existing infrastructure in the area.
He said that his appointment has offered him an opportunity to serve his people and make impact in their lives appealing to the people of the area to give him the necessary support and cooperation in his bid to touch their lives.
“My people, have confidence in me that I will perform because of my humble background and Christian faith and  will not betray the trust. I have a lot of  programmes earmarked for my people and I would be  focused and not distracted”, he said.
He however, called on the people to always exercise their civic duties but  by participating in voters registration, which would in due course commence in the state.
He stated that the condition for obtaining identification letter in the council would be hinged on presenting a voter’s card.
The chairman thanked Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi  for offering him the opportunity to serve his people and called on them to stand behind the governor who he described as a visionary leader whose primary priority is the   interest of the Riversman.”
