Cleric Advises Couples On Marriage Success

of God Church, Enugu Water Front, Port Harcourt, Rev Bapakaye Chiepakay has enjoined couples to establish their marriages in God because He is the author of the marriage institution.
Chiepakay handed the advice at the wedding ceremony of Stanley Anele, the son of Mr Christopher Amajiri of Administration Department, Rivers State Newspaper Corporation and Ngozi Benedicta Uko, in Port Harcourt.
According to the man of God, trials and temptations would come but, couples should remain steadfast in looking upto God who is the author and founder of marriage for their help.
Chiepakay who took his text from Ephesians 5:28, said God attached great importance to marriage, hence it should be valued and honoured by both husband and wife, with love, tolerance and co-operation.
He reminded the couples to always know that they came from different backgrounds, therefore need love, understanding and forgiveness to live peacefully.
The man of God said most marriages had crashed because of the failure of the couples to lean on the dictates of God and stressed that “if God is properly positioned in any marriage, such marriage excels”.
The Chairman of the occasion, Sir Promise Njiowhor urged the couples to abide by the principles of their choice and honour God who had attached great importance to it.
The chairman who was represented by his wife, Mrs Juliet Njiowhor  called for special prayers for the couple for the success of the marriage.
Father of the groom, Mr Christopher Amajiri expressed happiness that his first son had put smiles on his face and prayed God to honour the couple.
Among the dignitaries that graced the event were three directors in the Rivers State Newspaper Corporation: Mrs Emi Jameson, (Director of Administration), Mrs Juliet Njiowhor (Director of Publications) and Mr Valetine Ugboma (Director of Business Development) as well as the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Rivers State Council, Mr Opaka Dokubo.
