AFCON Qualifiers: Enyeama Returns For Sudan Showdown
Lille goalkeeper Vincent
Enyeama has been recalled by Nigeria for next month’s AFCON qualifiers against Sudan after he missed matches against Congo and South Africa in September.
Enyeama was excused from this month’s qualifiers against Congo and South Africa to attend to pressing family problems.
However, Ikechukwu Uche has again been overlooked by coach Stephen Keshi.
Keshi has said the Villarreal striker insists on being begged to play for his country, which Uche has swiftly denied.
There are also recalls for Victor Moses and Eskisehirspor of Turkey midfielder Raheem Lawal following their recent superb displays.
Keshi has called up several new faces though. They are Aaron Samuel (Guangzhou R & F, China), Sunday Emmanuel(SV ScholzGrodig,Austria), Hope Akpan (Reading FC, England) and Anyora Ugonna (Haugesund FC, Norway).
Nigeria travels to Khartoum on Saturday, October 11, before they host Sudan most likely in Abuja on October 15.
The African champions must win both matches against pointless Sudan next month to have any realistic chance of reaching the finals in Morocco early next year.
