19th NSF Elimination: Rivers B’Ball Confident Of Ticket

Sports prepare for the Zonal elimination for the forthcoming 19th National Sports Festival (NSF) tagged “paradise Games” and centenary games, scheduled to hold in Calabar, Cross Rivers State, the State’s basketball Association has expressed confidence over qualification for the games proper.
Coach of the Basketball team Dagogo Okumgba stated this in an interview with Tidesports in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the team has prepared adequately and is now poised to qualify for the festival. He said that, the athletes are in good spirits and determined to make it to the competition (NSF).
Okugbe, also said that the competition would be interesting, since it is open for professionals and amateurs to participate.
He believes that the games would be tough and memorable.
About six team sports are expected to participate in the Zonal elimination, these include Hockey, Volleyball, Handball, football, Basket ball and Abula (traditional sport).
Meanwhile, the players are training trice weekly at the basketball court Niger Street, Port Harcourt.
“After the just concluded second phase camping that lasted a month, we went back to our normal training to enable us keep fit and further prepare for the zonal qualifiers, scheduled to hold next month in Calabar”, said the Coach.
