Zonal Schools Board Promises Support To CBSS, Elelenwo
The Obio/Akpor zonal
office of the Rivers State Secondary Schools Board (RSSSB), has pledged to urge the state government to upgrade facilities at the Community Boys Secondary School, Elelenwo in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
The Zonal Director, Mr S. O. Obilor who said this at the prize giving/graduation ceremony of the school said that the zonal office should continue to write to the government to improve the condition of the school.
Obilor attributed the high academic standard of the school to the excellent relationship among the staffers and students and charged the graduating students to remain good ambassadors wherever they found themselves.
Also speaking, the representative of Hon. D. K. Chinda, member representing Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Sir Promise Amadi Francis, also urged the government to upgrade facilities at the school.
Francis who commended the management for the high level of discipline in the school further stressed the need for the old students association of the school to regularly identify with their alma mater.
He said that since inception, Community Boys Secondary School, Elelenwo has been providing quality students who have made the community proud and pledged the support of his office to the school.
In his address, the principal of the school, Elder Graham I. Oko-Jaja said that the school does not condone indiscipline. “Our students are becoming confident of themselves through lots of in house programmes that they are exposed to.”
Elder Oko-Jaja further said that the school has also introduced various orientation programmes geared towards attitudinal change, stressing that the situation has gone a long way in chcking all forms of lawlessness on the path of the student.
According to him, the school recently inaugurated a Financial Accounting Students’ Association which is now on Facebook.
“We also launched exam Ethics Committee in the school and the results is wonderful.
“We also have a committee that is responsible for the seizure of phones and other related technologies, thus minimizing distraction.
The Road Safety club is quite functional and many more,” he said.
The event featured the presentation of prizes to the best graduating students.
