Wike Not Competent To Assess Me -Okocha
Chief of Staff, Government House, Sir Tony Okocha, has replied claims by Minister of State for Education, Barrister Nyesom Wike that the office of the chief of staff was dead.
Sir Okocha, in a chat with newsmen at the weekend said the statement credited to Wike indicate that he was still missing his former job, insisting that only Governor Chibuike Amaechi is eligible to appraise both of them.
“ What I can imagine he is saying is that he is no longer Chief of Staff and the criminal acquisition which he was capable are no longer there as Chief of Staff. He is guilty of disrespect and indiscipline which was typical of his tenure,” Okocha remarked.
He stated that since assuming the office of Chief of Staff in 2011 he (Okocha) has brought new reforms to bear in the office, by making it more vibrant and effective.
Okocha urged Wike not to use his standards to adjudge others, saying, “ We have different nuances and different aura. I don’t carry the same aura. I cannot be on the same level with him.”
In the same vein, some caretaker committee chairmen have replied Wike for describing them as incompetent.
Some of the CTC chairmen, in media chat, described the claim as untrue and baseless.
CTC Chairman of Emohua, Godstime Olukwu said, “ Some of us who are chairmen of CTC in our local government areas are Masters Degree holders. Some of us here have gone to Harvard and come back…So, to describe us as incompetent is not true.
“ Let me inform him that we know what we are doing. We have galvanized our people and they are ready to embrace change in 2015, and we will defeat them.”
Similarly, CTC Chairman of Ahoada-East, Chief Andy Nweye explained that they are there to serve, considering their past profile, maintaining that his tenure as two-time state chairman of National Orientation Agency (NOA) affirms to his indelible records and performance before now.
