Tributes Pour In For Late Mayor Of PHC
Tributes have continued to pour in for the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Hon. Paul Charles Ejekwu who died two weeks ago after a brief illness.
Among those who paid tributes to the former Mayor include, Chief Andrew Uchendu, the member representing Ikwerre/Emohua Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Victoria Nyeche and Hon. Godstime Orlukwu, Caretaker Chairman of Emohua Local Government Council amongst others.
For Chief Andrew Uchendu, “death has cheated us again. Why and why are we the target of this attack?.
“We have lost an emerging leader of our time.
“Charlie’s death has created a big vacuum. May the good Lord grant the soul of the departed eternal rest”.
On his part, the paramount ruler of Port Harcourt, HRM Eze Victor Woluchem described the death of the Mayor as a big blow to Rebisi Kingdom.
“Charles, you came like the dove and you flew away.
“Without doubt, Rebisi has lost one of its finest.
“Rest in peace, Dear friend.
Hon. (Mrs) Victoria Nyeche said that she lacked the word to express over the untimely death of the Mayor.
The Caretaker Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Hon. Godstime Orlukwu also described the incident as a big shock to him.
In his words , “I was with you few hours, before you left. No sign, no trace of illness God knows best.
“My brother rest in peace”.
A former member of the National Assembly Hon. Chinyere Igwe in his tribute said, “my broada came, saw and conquered.
“We don’t know how to tell the story, but we know God knows it all.
“We therefore pray God to account and bring to judgement those responsible.
“May his gentle soul rest in the bossom of the Lord”, he said.
The Woman Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Hon. Chichi Amadi, prayed God to grant him eternal rest.
“God knows it all. Rest in peace. May your soul rest in peace”.
