Semenitari Donates Water Project To Okrika …Thanks God For The Tide Editor’s Life
The Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari has commissioned a 9,000 capacity water project at Abam-Ama in the Okrika local Government Area of the state.
The project, was donated to the community by the Commissioner as part of her contribution to the development of the area.
The Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt, Sir Tony Okocha described the project as first of its kind in the area, stressing that it is part of the commitment by the government to improve the conditions of the people.
Okocha also charged the people to make the best use of the project by protecting it against vandalisation.
Meanwhile, the Chief of Staff has challenged the Minister of State for Education, Chief Nyesom Wike to name the Commissioners that will dump the Governor Chibuike Amaechi Government by the end of the year.
Addressing the people of Okrika during the commissioning of a water project in the area, the Chief of Staff, said that politics must be issue – based and not lies.
He also lauded the harmonious relationship among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Okrika, and called for it to be sustained.
The state Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari said that the project was in response to the yearnings of the people following the scarcity of water in the area.
Semenitari said that the project, which is over 200 metres deep, will check water-borne diseases in the community.
Also speaking, with newsmen, the state deputy Chairman of the APC, Mr. Peter Odoki described the gesture as first of its kind in the area.
He said that the massive turn out of the people was indication that the APC is deeply rooted in the area.
Meanwhile, the Rivers State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs Ibim Semenitari , yesterday, joined family, friends and associates of The Tide Editor (Daily), Mr Soye Wilson Jamabo, to thank God for the Editor’s safe recovery from illness.
The commissioner, who read the second lesson at the St James’ Church, Ogoloma, said Jamabo would not have been alive without the grace of God.
Speaking at the reception, Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr Opaka Dokubo, described Jamabo as one of the finest journalists whose miraculous survival deserves celebration.
Addressing newsmen later, Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Okrika Local Government Council, Dr Godknows Tam-George, said that God has a purpose for saving Jamabo’s life, and urged the celebrant to serve God all the rest of his life.
