Rivers Angels Beat Pelican
Chief Coach of Rivers
Angels Football Club of Port Harcourt, Godwin Okon, has expressed satisfaction over his team’s 2-0 victory against visiting Pelican Stars of Calabar on Saturday.
Okon, who made his feelings known at the weekend, after the week 20 match played between his team and Pelican Stars at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt, said that position in the 2014 Nigeria Women Premier League (NWPL).
According to him, “At this level, we are okey. We needed the point badly, so as to remain on top of the table. We are not thinking of dropping any point till the end of the league,” Okon said.
The Angels boss noted that the officiating was fair and free. “If we can get this kind of officiating anywhere just like we had today, then there is no team that can stand us, we just have to prepare for our matches”, he said.
Meanwhile, the Angels would encounter Nassarawa Amazons of Lafia, Thursday, in one of their outstanding matches.
Rivers Angels are leading with 39 points, while Pelican Stars are second with 32 points on the league table.
It would be recalled that the Angels defeated their Delta State counterpart, Delta Queens 2-0 last Wednesday in one of their outstanding games.
