Old Students Poised To Renovate GSS

Old students of
Government Secondary School, Asarama town (GSSA) in Adoni Local Government Area of Rivers State have resolved to renovate the school.
They also set machineries in motion towards the formal inauguration of the Association to contribute their quota to the upliftment of the society.
This is part of a 7-point communiqué issued at the end of the first pre-inaugural meeting of the old students association of the secondary school, jointly presided over by the conveners, Mr George Amini, Principal of Community Secondary School, Ebukuma town, Andoni and Hon. Allisoin Phanuel, a former supervisor of Agriculture in Andoni Council.
At the meeting, attended by royal fathers, pastors, doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers, journalists, nurses, politicians, businessmen and women, among others, turned out by the school in the last 38 years, an interim 5-man committee was set up to ensure the successful inauguration of the association and set modalities in place for the smooth take-off of the school’s renovation project, aimed at giving it a face lift.
The old students paid tributes to their departed colleagues and observed a minute silence in their honur. They further offered prayers for the school, Andoni land, Rivers State and the nation at large, before adjourning the meeting to September 13.
Old students at the meeting included The Tide Abuja Bureau Chief, Justus Unye-Awaji, Chief Sampson T. O Otugot, Mr Ellis Nria-Dappa, a director at the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Hon. Lundi Frank-Wariboko, Chief Hect Mkparo, Mr Fubara Jonah, a director in Rivers State Civil Service, and a nurse, Catherine U. Jeremiah, Mrs Caroline E. Ikaru-Elechi as well as Pastor Matthias I. Ogween, Mr John Gura and Hon. Asuk Utopejit Charles.
