Oil Spills: NOSDRA Pledges Speedy Control In N/Delta

The National Oil Spill
Detection and Response Agency (NOSDRA) has pledged to treat all cases of environmental degradation caused by oil spill in the Niger Delta with dispatch.
Chairman, Board of Governors of the Agency, Major Lancelot Anyanya (rtd) said this during a courtesy call on the Oba of Ogbaland, His Emuience Chukwumelam Nnam Obi II, at Omoku, headquarters of Ogba Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area.
Major Anyanya (rtd) said that the agency needs the support and collaboration of oil-bearing communities in order for them to have a pollution-free environment  he sid that teh agency is desirous of ensuring that Ogba Egbema/Ndoni which is a major oil producing local government area in the state did not effect the effort of oil pollution.
The NOSDRA chairman commended the Ogba menarch for the relative peace in his domain and maintained that the incredible support the Oba in Council and the entire Ogba people have given to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was  overwhelming.
He  also described the monarch as a dynamic and charismatic leader, stressing that leadership is a spiritual value that needs a sound and mature person.
Responding, the Oba, His Eminence Chukwumela Nnam Obi II assured the  NOSDRA Chairman of the support of the entire Ogba people with the view to ensuring a pollution-free environment in the area.
The Monarch also prayed the Almighty God to use the NOSDRA Chairman as instrument of development.
