NBA Ilorin’s Crisis Deepens
The crisis rocking
the Ilorin branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, (NBA) deepened weekend as the secretary of the association, Mr. Idowu Akande, accused the embattled chairman, Mr. Mobolaji Ojibara of financial recklessness.
This came as a statement by 57 members of the association asked the secretary to call on emergency meeting on Wednesday to consider the impeachment notice served on the chairman.
The secretary in the statement submitted to the council of the Elders of the Ilorin branch of NBA, headed by Mr Hassan Garba, also accused Ojibara of abuse of office.
The statement also claimed the chairman was running the association without regard to the collective decision of the remaining executive members and that he had taken over the statutory function of the secretary of the Association by signing official letters without the knowledge of other executive members.
