Late PHALGA Boss To Be Interred,Friday
The burial arrangement of the Chairman, Care-taker Committee of Port Harcourt City Local Government Council late Hon. Charles Paul Ejekwu whose painful death occurred on Wednesday the 13th August 2014, has been announced by his family.
A press release signed by the Publicity Committee Chairman and Member of PHALGA Care-taker Committee Hon. Mrs Nancy Stehens-Ijaopo on behalf of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Council, said that there will be a service of songs on Thursday 28th August 2014 at St. Thomas Anglican Church Diobu from 6pm to 8pm.
The statement further said that on Friday the 29th of August 2014, body will leave Braithwait Memorial Specialist Hospital en-route Port Harcourt City Local Government Council Headquarters to be received by the management and staff of the council, where all past councillors will have a mock session.
Thereafter, body will leave in a motorcade to PHALGA APC Secretariat at No. 10 Manilla Pepple Street D/Line for a brief stopover.
Hon. Nancy Stephens-Ijaopo pointed out that the body will then leave APC Secretariat and be received by the chiefs and elders of Rumuwoji Community to be laid in state at his family house, No. 1, Abba Street, Diobu, Port Harcourt.
According to the statement, the late mayor’s body would later depart for St. Thomas Anglican Church Diobu for interdenominational funeral service.
The body will be taken back to his family house for internment.
The PHALGA authorities also directed that all flags hoisted within the LGA should be drawn half mast in honour of the departed local government CTC chairman.
