Kono Boue Crisis: Indigenes Harp On Tight Security

Community  in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State have cried out for security to be intensified in the area so as to avert further bloodshed occasioned by cult-related activities.
A community leader of Kona Bo-ue, Chief Gordon Tornwe explained to newsmen in Port Harcourt that the security situation in the community was unpredictable which required effective security.
Chief Tornwe, a justice of peace said law-abiding and well-meaning indigenes were now living in fear over security breaches resulting from sponsored cult activities saying what is required now is round-the-clock vigilance by security agencies.
Tornwe, a former Khana Local Government chairman further explained after the gruesome murder of a prominent community leader, Chief Dee Agbem, on July 28, 2014, the community had been under siege by cultists.
He, however, said that well-meaning individuals were making effort with security operatives to forestall further bloodshed and destruction of properties.
The former council boss who is also  a member of Rivers State Scholarship  Board said that they would not fold their hands and watched few disgruntled criminals unleashed terror on innocent indigenes.
On the killing of Chief Agbem, he charged security agencies to fish out the culprits and make them face the law to serve as a deterrent to others.
