Improvement Of Nigerian Referees Excites Eguavoen

Chief Coach, Austin Eguavoen  has said that the officiating skills of Nigerian referees have improved remarkably this season.
Fielding questions from newsmen in Gombe, Eguavoen, who is now the Technical Adviser of Gombe Utd FC, said that he was impressed by what he had seen so far.
“Nigerian referees are doing their best and what I have seen of their performance, so far, is remarkable,” he said.
He said that with the combined efforts of all stakeholders, the Nigerian Premier League, would advance to the level required to sustain the interest of football lovers in the country.
Meanwhile, Gombe Utd  FC last Wednesday  in Gombe, defeated Akwa Utd  2-0 in their  Week 21 Premier League encounter.
The first goal came through Austine Ekpoma’s header in the 32nd minute, while Isaac Giwa increased the tally in the 50th minute, through a direct free-kick.
Akwa Utd  completed the game with 10 men after one of its players, Iguda Godpower, was sent off the pitch in the 47th for pushing a player of the host team.
