How APC Defeated PDP In Osun – Okocha
A chieftain of the All
Progressives Congress (APC) and Chief of Staff, Rivers State Government House, Sir Tony Okocha, has said the APC’s victory in the just concluded governorship election in Osun State was as a result of the party’s resilience to beat the rigging machinery of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Sir Okocha who said this in a telephone interview with The Tide, recently, said APC worked harder to ensure PDP was stopped from materializing its rigging plan in Osun State.
According to him, one of the PDP’s plans was to use the Federal Government-controlled security operatives to arrest committed members of APC in the state ahead of the election and thereby intimidated the electorate during the election.
The APC chieftain who confirmed that over 250 APC members were arrested by security operatives before and during the election, described the development as a coup against democracy.
He, however, commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for its transparent conduct of the election.
He said that, the Osun victory is a signal of good omen for APC come 2015 election in Rivers State, despite the alleged complicity of the security men with the PDP.
