Falconets Go For Victory Over England, Today
Falconets coach Peter Dedevbo said his players will aim for nothing less than victory when they face England today in their final group game of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Nigeria tops Group C with four points having drawn their opening match with Mexico, and defeated Korea Republic in Moncton. England and Mexico both have two points – one more than the bottom-placed Koreans.
While hailing the efforts of the team in their recent victory, Dedevbo reiterated the ambition of his team to claim championship honours.
“They (the girls) are here in Canada to win the World Cup, so I cannot relax on the win against Korea Republic,” Dedevbo said.
“The English team is equally good to have qualified and thus the team must be adequately prepared. I want nothing less than a win against England.
“I am happy the strategy used in the match against Korea worked, this time around I am going to to introduce a new style of play. I must commend the girls for their fearless fight, and am happy there are no injuries among the girls.”
The Falconets tackle the English today, with kick-off at 6pm local time (1am Nigeria time) and expectation are that the Dedevbo girls will overcome the opponents and will their group
