FAAN Host Communities Get Free Health Services
The three host
communities of the Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, Ipo and Igwuruta now have access to quality health care services.
The Management of Mobil Producing Nigeria (MPN), announced this at the flag-off of a three-day free medical campaign in each of the three host communities.
In his address at the ceremony, the Manager, Occupational Health, Dr. Ayodele Faybemi, stated that MPN was instiuting accumulative nine-days free medical outreach for the three communities hosting the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Port Harcourt.
The company also handed over a newly renovated FAAN Medical centre with a Radiographic Block, and the donation of 35 lines of medical equipment for the health centres noting that the company’s support for the FAAN medical centre would assist neighbouring communities and the airport users.
According to him, “the integrated support we are providing for the FAAN Medical Centre at the airport is to enable her render medical assistance to members of the neighbouring communities and emergency medical services to members of the public who patronize the airport”.
He said as a business venture operating in Nigeria MPN was committed to the health and wellbeing of Nigerians adding that they would continue to support requests from responsible groups and institutions in the society.
In her address, FAAN’s regional general manager, South-South/South-East, Mrs Ebele Okoye, thanked the management of MPN and the host communities and commended the conduct of the host communities around the airport facilities, while solidity for continued support and co-operation.
Also speaking, the Director, Public health, Rivers State ministry of health, Dr. Nnanna Onyekwere who was represented by the Supervisor, Environmental health, the same Ministry Dr. Felix Filima, called on the communities and management of FAAN for optimized utilization of the facility and fits protection for longevity.
