Ebola: Expert Charges Nigerians On Personal Hygiene

A consultant physician,
Dr Sunny Chinenye, has stressed the need for improved personal hygien to reduce the rate of contracting the Ebola epidemie.
He stated this during a one day sensitisation proramme organised by the management of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) on the prevention, control and awareness campaign on Ebola virus.
Speaking at the seminar, Dr Omosivie Nladuka, called for safe waste disposal and other environment  best practices to check the out-break of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD), Dr Maduka also spoke on the prevention and control measures of the deadly virus.
In her speech, Dr Awopeju Temitayo of the department of Microbiology University of Port Harcourt descried the virus as a worm which  belongs to the (fifovines) family (filovines) and called for appropriate preventive measure to avert the spread of the epidemic .
She also urged government to be proactive in the implementation of its strategic plans  to rid the country of the deadly disease.
Also speaking, the Chief Medical Director of UPTH, Prof Aaron Ojule, said that the hospital was already partnering with the federal and state governments on measured to tackle the disease.
