Dame Judith Promises 50,000 Decoders For Trainees

nor Dame Judith Amaechi has promised to provide 50,000 decoders at the end of the Three Day Capacity building for decoder installers in the state.
She said this during her remarks at the opening ceremony of a Three-Day training programme for decoder installers organized by the state ministry of information and communication, Wednesday in Port Harcourt.
Mrs Amaechi who spoke through the immediate past Deputy Mayor of Port Harcourt City Council, Nancy Stephens, said that even her husband was interested in the programme due to the likely opportunities that it would offer.
The first lady, noted that self-reliance jobs are better options at the time of job scarcity.
However, she has lauded the ministry of Information and Communications over their thoughtful initiatives towards the actualization of the programme.
Earlier, the Director of Operations Continental Satellite Limited (ConSAT), Mrs. Fumi Adewon, had said that one of the aims of the training was to hand over baton to youngsters to enable them earn a living.
She noted that ConSAT which is a pay TV, would be affordable and free to air.
Adewon, hinted that the event was in consonance with the state government plans to empower youths and graduates in the state.
According to her, subscribers would only part with N1,000 yearly to allow them benefit from all free-to-air services, which would include the cable network news (CNN) the state’s media outfits and others.
Also speaking the state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Mr Opaka Dokubo, expressed hope that the ConSAT training would enable the state to beat the June 2015 deadline for digital broadcasting .
He therefore, charged journalists to brace up to the new challenge and do their business.
In his contribution, one of the Directors in the information ministry Mr Paulinus Nsirim, Praised Governor Chibuike Amaechi for being someone that strongly believes in change.
