ASUU Demands Welfare System Of Govt

Union of Universities (ASUU) has demanded for the introduction of socialist welfare of government in the country.
The National President of ASUU, Dr. Nasir Isa stated this while briefing journalists after the union national executive meeting held at the University of Calabar.
Nasir said socialist welfare system of government in Nigeria would take radical and effective measures to substantively elevate the living condition of the poor masses in the country.
He said the first step required to address the challenges that resulted from the dynamism of the global capitalist system the country has embedded in, is by instituting a socialist welfare state.
The ASUU boss said “Nigeria polity is called a federation. But it is, in reality operated like a monarchy even though it is called a republic”.
He said the ruling class keeps sermonizing about true federalism but in reality what Nigerians experience is ethnic needs geared towards grabbing wealth, political and economic domination by the ruling class.
