ASUP Demands N100m Damages From First Bank

Union of Polytechnic (ASUP) of Adamawa State owned Polytechnic Chapter has demanded N100 million compensation from First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) for alleged damages the Union suffered when its account was frozen.
The Union in a statement accused the bank of illegally freezing the account of the union without giving the union any reason for the action.
The union statement said the bank action was unlawful act that infringed  on its legitimate financial transaction, adding that the union has over four million one hundred thousand naira when its cheques were refused to be honoured by the bank.
The ASUP demands for the defreezing of their current account and payment of the sum of one hundred million naira as special and general damages to compensate for its losses suffered due to the breach of the banker-customer contractual agreement.
